2013

A landmark year for the Catskill Jazz Factory, 2013 established many programs that would carry on for future years to come. A winter of education outreach led by founding artistic director Aaron Diehl culminated in Kingston Swings, a blow-out day of performances with Wycliffe Gordon, Brandon Lee, Yasushi Nakamura and Alvin Atkinson at Ulster Performing Arts Center in Kingston, NY alongside CCE-Kingston and the Kingston City Schools. The winter season also included our first Jazz in the Snow series on winter weekends in Tannersville at the Last Chance Antiques & Cheese Café Tavern.

Summer highlights include a Creole Soul Parade down Tannersville’s Main Street for Independence Day led by Etienne Charles and one of our most memorable artist residencies to date. Four top jazz ensembles in residence culminated in back-to-back sold out nights, Live at the Orpheum and Jelly & George, featuring the Marcus Roberts Trio, the Cecile McLorin Salvant Trio, the Benny Benack III Quartet, and the Antonio Madruga Trio.
