Django Reinhardt & the French Salon

  • Bard College Richard B. Fisher Center 60 Manor Avenue Annandale-on-Hudson, NY

Explore the roots of early Jazz, the musical influences of French Impressionism, and a fusion of the two in the virtuosic work of Django Reinhardt’s songbook with Horne & Hoyes and their ensemble. This innovative evening of music will examine the trans-Atlantic interplay between the American and French Jazz scenes. Join Catskill Jazz Factory for an exploration of the links between French mélodie, jazz, and cabaret. Satie, Debussy, and Poulenc meets Ellington, Porter and beyond.

The Catskill Jazz Factory is delighted to present this musical discovery and the underlying creative and cultural histories of these works, served up with an imaginative and signature musical perspective.
