CJF in Europe: Life & Loves

  • Crazy Coq's Live at Zédel 20 Sherwood Street London, England, W1F 7ED United Kingdom (map)

The New Generation Festival (NGF), in co-production with the Catskill Jazz Factory, delivers, through the works of Richard Strauss, Kurt Weill and George Gershwin, a musical rumination on the joys and tribulations of life, the eternity of love, the tension and resolution in relationships, and the universality of these themes across genres and cultures.

Music is with us in our cradles, through the passion and heartbreaks of our first loves and at the joy of marriage. It consoles us during life's inevitable tribulations and at partings. Like love, it is eternal.

"Trumpeter of abundant poise" (New York TimesDominick Farinacci leads one of NGF's young singers, soprano Anush Hovhannisyan ("a star is born" - The Sunday Times) and "one of the shining stars of her generation" (The Boston Globe) vocalist Shenel Johns. They are joined by Christian Tamburr and Michael Ward-Bergeman.

The New Generation Festival, an event of "broad scope and cinematic charm" (Financial Times), is a platform for the world's finest young music talent. The festival offers an array of awe-inspiring productions, showcasing rising stars of the music, opera and theatre industry in a unique and picturesque setting, the Gardens of the Palazzo Corsini al Prato in Florence, Italy.

The Catskill Jazz Factory is an arts project of the 23Arts Initiative based in the USA that nurtures emerging jazz artists. Providing residencies and support to young top-quality performers developing première musical projects, the Catskill Jazz Factory also works with these artists to promote community building through jazz.
