After falling in love with the guitar at age 10, Gabe Schnider has since performed/recorded with a variety of artists including Wynton Marsalis, Jon Batiste and Stay Human, Joshua Bell, Damian Woetzel, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Christian Scott aTunde Adjuah, Arturo O’Farrill, Jane Monheit, Wycliffe Gordon, Julian Lage, Jorge Glem, Bill T. Jones, Lil' Buck and Esperanza Spalding, among others. A graduate of The Juilliard School as a recipient of the Jerome Green Fellowship, Gabe was recently featured in Wynton Marsalis' "Future of Jazz Orchestra" and was also a member of Wynton Marsalis' acclaimed band, "The Young Stars of Jazz," which headlined at the 2016 Marciac Jazz Festival. A featured musician at the 2017 Vail International Dance Festival, Gabe is a frequent performer at Jazz at Lincoln Center and has performed at such venues as The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Carnegie Hall, The Jazz Standard, Birdland, Gracie Mansion, The Jazz Gallery, Staples Center (2011 Grammy Awards Telecast with Esperanza Spalding), The Blue Note NYC, the American Folk Festival, and the Newport, Monterey, Montreux, Montreal, Marciac and Toronto International Jazz Festivals.
Gabe resides in Harlem and plays regularly throughout the city as well as nationally, performing with a variety of ensembles spanning a myriad of musical worlds. As a leader/composer, his most recent work is entitled Hapa: Love Stories, a full-length record which chronicles how his parents met and fell in love in New York City after leaving their homes in Hawaii and Switzerland. Gabe is currently developing several new works set to release later this year.
